Guidance

My name is Mrs. Leketha Bradley-Andrews. I am the Guidance Counselor at Pollard-McCall Junior High School. Let me tell you a little bit about my job. A school counselor is a person at a school that is trained to help students with academic, social, or emotional problems. School counselors help students make choices, develop positive attitudes toward school and home, adapt to the school environment, make transitions smoothly, and assist with desired career explorations. Students may see the counselor if referred by the teacher, administrator, parent, or during a small group session. At least once a month I visit each classroom and teach a character education lesson. Additionally, each morning a student from one class is invited to help lead the school in the Pledge of Allegiance.

My professional background includes receiving a Bachelor's degree in Special Education from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma, a Master's degree in Community and School Counseling from University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama, and an Educational Specialist degree in School Counseling from University of West Alabama in Livingston, Alabama. I am from Brewton, Alabama and have taught every grade level PreK,1-12th grade.  I am honored to be the counselor at Pollard-McCall Junior High School. I look forward to working with all the students here at Pollard-McCall Junior High School. Additionally, my door is always open. Parents feel free to contact me here at the school and make an appointment.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Leketha Bradley-Andrews, Guidance Counselor
